the parable

This is about a kingdom value/principle that I've been learning in church.

There was a King, who has many commanders, men and people under him. and there was this particular commander involved in this parable too.

The commander was put in charge of the King's money, and because there was so much money involved, he had a committee under him to help him. As prosperous years passed, the commander got complacent and slack with the operations of managing the King's funds. One day, in the nation's annual auditing, they found out that actually a 1/4 of the King's funds (which is a lot of money) was missing! So investigations started, and obviously the first person questioned was the commander in charge.

At the end of the round of investigations, the commander in charge finally concluded that it was careless accounting on their parts, and money was slowly being embezzled in small bits, all unnoticed. and knowing that he was pretty much screwed, he had no choice but to beg the King for pardon. so the King said, "alright. it's ok. Money lost can be earned again. If I executed you, no money can bring you back again. From now on, be more careful with my money."

The commander, filled with immense joy and relief having escaped the death sentence, came out of the court room with a spring in his steps.

Not long after, the commander thought to himself, i must punish those who deserve to be punished! So he held his own round of investigations, and called for all those involved in the careless accounting of the money. Having done that, he sentenced all involved in some way to life sentence in prison.

The King when he heard about it, the King summoned the man and said, 'You evil servant! I forgave you when you begged me for mercy. Shouldn't you be compelled to be merciful to your fellow servant who asked for mercy?' The king was furious and put the screws to the man until he paid back his entire debt.

And that's exactly what my Father in heaven is going to do to each one of you who doesn't forgive unconditionally anyone who asks for mercy.
